April 9, 2019 - Well, this is one of those bottles I had no intention of sitting on for so long, but that side-by-side Cahors tasting I had in mind upon purchasing this nearly 10 yrs. ago never quite materialized, so here we are at lunch with Mexican leftovers and what I believe to be the last of those mixed Cahors bottles.

Rubber cork. $12 bottle. Ruh roh. Well, you know, it's pretty dense coloring here still that's nearly opaque with ruby edges. Aromas of dark fruits, graphite, crushed rocks, and chalk. Definitely got that rocky, minerally, almost medicinal, vibe going. Medium(+) body, medium acid, medium(-) finish, with flavors of dark fruits and minerals. Not too contemplative or expressive, but hey, it's not dead, so there's that. I wouldn't waste a nice steak on this wine, but red meat is probably the call, so I'd suggest beef stew, beef burritos, burgers, or lamb for the pairing.

June 17, 2012 - Beautiful earthy forest floor nose with a slight hint of red berries. Medium weight, moderate acidity. Excellent grip on the finish with well integrated tannins. Drinking perfectly right now with lamb, but wouldn't be surprised if it holds up well for another few years. Great QPR discounted at around $11!

    December 8, 2011 - 16,5/20
VISUEL: Rubis fonçé, intense. Noir !
OLFACTIF: Intense et chaud (encre, sang)
GUSTATIF: Intense, fruité, fruits noirs (encre/goudron) Les tanins sont solides mais bien faits. Rien d'astringent. L'ensemble est chaud avec quelques notes animales (sans les bretts)
ENSEMBLE: Excellent Cahors à moins de 14$. Q/P impeccable !

December 16, 2010 - Deep, purple-tinged color. Warm, welcoming burnt cherry nose. Structured and bone dry in the mouth without the spice usually associated with Malbec. Lingers nicely on the tongue. Subtle and satisfying.
