February 7, 2020 - AT home w/Valerie, had been a couple years. Not often I have 12 year old Sauvignon Blanc from California. Chilled, PnP, drank over 2 hours.

Mostly consistent with prior notes. The almond/nuts on the nose stood out a bit more on this tasting. Marinated apples/orchard fruit, creme brulee, apricot. Medium/full weight and medium finish.

Still very nice, drinks a bit better with a chill. Unique palate, its not for everybody. V was neutral to negative on this...

December 30, 2018 - Pre-New Years with K&O (Chez Walker - Princeton, NJ): Second wine of the evening, haven't had this in a couple years and was interested in checking in on it. Interesting contrast to the first white (14 Hirsch Chardonnay).

Color has really deepened with age - dark gold/brass color. You could mistake the color for an aged sauterne...profile has evolved considerably (from memory). Nose showing candied lemon, nuts/almonds, floral, vanilla. Palate adding marinated apples, orchard fruits, creme brulee, oak..full bodied and long finish

Really interesting wine, age has added weight and complexity to the wine . Best guess is it will go for a while. Style not for everyone, and wont be guessed as Sauv Blanc in any blind tastings...paired well with rich cheeses

March 8, 2016 - PNV 07 Tasting and Dinner hosted by Mitch in Bal Harbour. Mitch was very generous with his cellar. Pre-dinner whites and burgundy before the Cabs...

Consistently good wine, from memory this has added some weight/viscosity since last tasting. Flavor profile consistent with prior notes: "floral, honeysuckle, vanilla. Flavors mirror the nose, picked up a caramel, creme brulee on the finish - 20 seconds +..."

April 5, 2013 - Dinner at Chez Walker with Debbie/Doug/Rebecca/Kevin: Dinner party at our place with Debbie/Doug/Rebecca/Kevin...This wine gets better every time I have it.

Consistent with prior notes - nose had floral, honeysuckle, vanilla. Flavors mirror the nose, picked up a caramel, creme brulee on the finish - 20 seconds +.

No one in the crew guessed this as a Calif SB, what makes it unique is its not quite like other SBs I have had

December 27, 2012 - Dinner at our house with Todd and Kay. Opened the evening with a PNV for appetizers. Last two bottles of this were tight, so I have let it sit a year and allowed this to open for an hour. Turned out to be a good decision, nose was floral, honey, vanilla i remember when we drank this wine from the barrel. Kept getting better through the evening.

Flavors mirrored the nose, vanilla, citrus, honey, oak. Has a viscous mouth-feel. Almost like a mid weight dessert wine. Finish was 15-20 seconds.

Very unique wine, Lail makes some of the best SB in Calif, in my opinion (with prices to match).
