Community Tasting Notes 13

July 30, 2015 - This showed good but not great. That was likley my fault as I took it straight from the wine storage locker to the dinner with no chance to air. It probably needed to be decanted.
I got green apple and flowers on the nose. That was quite pleasant. The palate was a little bit nutty and maybe had a little bit more apple. It didn't show that zingy acidity and verve that I like in Chablis, especially from Fourchaume.
It also seemed riper than the typical Chablis. It still had a great midpalate and finish, but the flavors were a little bigger than normal.

October 1, 2014 - Huge cheesy stink to this wine when first uncorked. The nose cleaned up with air, but not fully. Off bottle.

September 12, 2014 - I'll assist Pknut in posting on this wine. Completely agree with his tasting note from 3/30. Great bottle of wine, well structured and contained with a very saline character. Focused, pure, great cut.

This was another great bottle, and this wine seems to be wholly in the zone right now. I opened the bottle on Friday night and it was pretty impressive from the get-go, with a clear palate, no oak, hints of lemon, rock salt and saline, and with great texture and zippy acidity. Finished the second half of the bottle Sunday evening and it was even better, with lemon notes, grapefruit pith that gave a hint of bitterness, no degradation over two nights in the fridge. A great Chablis that is drinking very nicely today.

December 1, 2013 - Another great bottle. Clear palate, no oak, apple flesh fruit with plenty of citrus notes and bright acidity. Better on the second night, very youthful, showing plenty of edge, energy and acidity. Drinking very well now.
