October 28, 2022 - Snacking with Kirin beer. Pnp before lunch. A quarter of cork soaked. Crystal ruby colour with a violet halo. Firm keeper of this particular vintage, muted on the nose and shaped on the palate with a serious acid after eighteen years. Tasty, fresh
What else can I say? It is not a question of decanting, in spite that recommendation on the back label, of this bottle but understand the vintage and winemaker methods. Notes of rotten rose petals, flesh, salty and clearly earthy on the nose. Plenty of 2004 character strawberries are at the back. Silky-smooth textured, good acidity, less than decent persistence, foolish aftertaste. Last glass the most ordinary.
Definitively can't be compared with Ardanza or with Franco-Españolas even, from the same year. Requires food urgently. One magnum remining as 2005 harvest.

March 6, 2022 - Gentle restrained flavours, fading cherry fruit, a bit of tobacco and spice, lovely now, and no rush.

November 28, 2018 - Dark red. Lots of glycerine. Initial impression is a lot of toasty American oak. With some swirling, the oak nose blows off. Harmonious in the mouth. Pretty seamless. Classic, traditional Rioja. Tasty.

    September 12, 2018 - I would let these go a bit longer
