December 5, 2015 - I opened the bottle and poured through a vintorio. Red fruit on nose, the palate was raspberry and ripe red plums. The full smooth finish brought out hints of nutmeg. Very enjoyable wine and my wife actually rated it a 92+.

February 8, 2015 - This wine is even better than last tasting. Smooth and supple, perfectly balanced, lots of cherry and red fruit. Simply beautiful.

September 24, 2014 - I actually enjoyed this more on day one when it had more pronounced dark fruit and Asian spice day two while still very good, it lost some of its vigor.

May 25, 2014 - Brought by Grant and this was better than I remembered. Classic CA Pinot that has mostly integrated its oak and for my palate approaching its peak. 91-92

February 3, 2014 - Lovely aromas of lavender, blueberries and cherry compote. Spicy and light bodied on the palate with flavors of cherries, plums and pomegranate. Notes of vanilla and toasted nuts add richness and complexity. Ripe tannins.

July 19, 2013 - This is a beautiful wine with impressive balance. Cherry cola abound with a bit more spice and meat to it. Pop and pour through aerator. A great example of California Pinot.

May 19, 2012 - Santa Cruz Mountain Trip (Windy Oaks, Alfaro Family, Big Basin): Tasted at the winery in a flight with the Alfaro and Woodruff pinots. More prominent floral/forest aromas than the others. Fruit aromas were similar to the others but seemed a bit more concentrated. Seemed to be the most structured of the wines. Lots of dark fruit combined with complex spices and a woody component. Tannins are more noticeable than the other wines, but they’re also very well-integrated. My favorite of the three.
