July 15, 2012 - A pleasant wine, that held up nicely. Smooth tannins, with a decent finish, but probably won't improve further with additional age.

March 19, 2009 - Recently tried another bottle after finding this wine to be "asleep" in 2006. This time it was found to be back to its former glory. It compared well to some very prestigious wines (97 Caymus; 97 Vino in Musica; 00 Seghesio Cortina Zin and some others). There were six of us, mostly more experienced with wine (and more articulate) than myself. We didn't all agree on everything, but the consensus was close and the 01 Omaggio was not top dog(that was the Caymus), but well up in the rankings.

November 25, 2008 - This just gets better and better. Scultped using old world as it's backdrop, the wine has enough character to define itself on it's own merit. Was well worth the cellaring

December 18, 2006 - Wanted to offer a special wine to friends this evening, but found this wine to have gone "dumb". Everything was there, but no spark, no fire. I have five more bottles that I think I will let rest for a few more years before trying again.(Dec. 06) When working, this is an exceptional wine.

November 26, 2005 - Decanter Fine Wine Encounter 2005 (The Landmark Hotel, London): The nose of this '01 is more subtle than the '99, but attractive non-the-less. The palate is slightly more forward tho, but no less concentrated, balanced or structured. Very pleasant to drink and should continue to improve for years to come.
