January 23, 2014 - A deep, deep burgundy greets the eye. The nose awakens to cranberry, rhubarb, Draper Perfume, graham cracker, earth and mineral. This is one broad ranging Zin bouquet, and enticingly so. The palate shows distinct caramel, plum, cranberry, roasted tomato, cinnamon ... each time, each sip seemed to draw a new facet of the profile. The mouthfeel is smooth and silky with integrated tannins. Simply delicious. This still pours fairly clean with very little sediment. 14.5% alc. With venison (and other) sausages. The wine raises the venison sausage to a whole, new level. An excellent wine: Recommended.

February 25, 2013 - Sadly, this bottle was past prime! Too sweet (like a bad desert wine).

August 14, 2011 - Very mellow and smooth. All the edges are gone. Probably past it's peek. Still plenty of fruit.

July 17, 2011 - This may be past peak, but still held deep and rich fruit flavor. Dark plum/brown color. Cork was toast, so filtered and decanted about an hour. Wish I had more!

    August 20, 2010 - Dinner with Valerie
This might be a little past its prime but it was still very good.
Overall - a little light up front then good a spicy with a dark red fruit finish
Color – Dark plum and heading to brown
    Appearance – clear and dark
Aroma – mineral, dark red fruit, light pepper
    Body – heavy
Taste – medium acid and great spice, maybe more than pepper
    Textures – smooth
Finish - a bit abrupt with stronger acid

May 7, 2010 - Dark garnet red. Sweet confit, mincemeat, and overripe black plums on the nose with a touch of peppery spice. Notes of mulberry, black plum, notable Asian spice, and blackberry with a touch of vanilla and pepper. Rare steak notes on the finish. Solid structure and mouth-feel. This wine needs about an hour to fully open up. Quite pleasant.

December 29, 2009 - A little flatter than the bottle a few weeks ago, the fruit was still pleasant and well-balanced with acid & tannin. Not as smooth as I hoped or expected, tho. Chris really enjoyed.
