December 2, 2018 - One dimensional typical 08 just not exciting
March 28, 2018 - Orange bricking color. Clear signs of aging. The nose has partially developed fruit and chocolate, moss, mushrooms and forest floor. Ripe cherries and floral notes of violets, elderberry flowers and summer meadow. The palate is soft and mild, clean and balanced, but all the tannins are gone. Not much structure left. Some acidity and power from the fruit is still present, but the bottle is over the top. This seems a bit like premature ripening to me. The bottle is still very good, but during 10 hours the wine dwindles and winds down into a shadow of itself. Very enjoyable right after opening, but for me this bottle will gain nothing from further cellaring.

September 18, 2016 - As usual, leaner and edgier than other Fourriers, but still vibrant and exciting
March 12, 2016 - Paler, and much sharper and edgier than the 2012/13 villages wines preceding it - bracing and exciting, though
April 4, 2015 - The edgiest of the Fourrier wines in one of the edgiest vintages, sour sour cherries, but there's sweetness there too. A compelling combo.
August 2, 2014 - Quite lean and edgy for a Fourrier, some spice, good energy
July 30, 2014 - Dinner with Friends (Sun Wah BBQ - Chicago, IL): A lot to like here already. At first the nose was very woodsy and gassy. 2.5 hours in the decanter really helped flesh out the underbrush, cherry, and cranberry flavors. Much like Adrian, this is right in my wheelhouse...tons of clear, cool red fruit...whiffs of dried floral notes, and pungent earthy undertones. Balanced from start to finish.
July 30, 2014 - Impromptu Dinner at Sun Wah (Chicago, IL): This is right up my wheelhouse. Stern and austere red Burgundy, with loads of stemmy character. There's a huge amount of crunchy red fruit, but somehow there's no real fruit character to the wine (or maybe it's just hidden behind the monumental structure). This is a very introverted bottle of wine right now, and it raises my fears again that 08 Burgundy will develop into very tough and hard-to-enjoy (but cerebral) wines a la '88. As it is now though, this doesn't really seem shutdown, despite only having a few hours to decant.
April 16, 2014 - Light crimson to garnet-orange rim. Heady nose with Bing cherry, red plums, powdered rocks, then raspberry jelly powder.
A tight, minerally palate, with a succulent texture with some but not lots of mid palate weight and fine sandy tannins. There is front palate purity and whilst the fruits start with bright raspberry and red cherry - almost with a cool drink softness - a more herbal tones develops alomost green with a wild strawberry element. Structurally it feels masculine at first sight with a steely core (very iron fist in a velvet glove cliché) fair concentration but hasn't the staying power in the mouth and not as layered as a Grand cru.
November 24, 2013 - Fortsatt meget frisk syre, men denne flasken var mer elegant i frukten enn den forrige. Mer bringebær og mørkere; noe rustikk. Litt dyr for kvaliteten.
