September 2, 2020 - Unbelievable from a 25-year old Chardonnay. Totally held up. Still fruit! I loved this. I was expecting to ditch it. Wow! Butterscotch in the nose!

January 23, 2020 - Kalin is so variable that when you see a dark gold bottle of Chardonnay it's hard to have much hope. Well, this bottle astounded me. No bruised apples and only the slightest hint of butterscotch, there was so much life and complexity in here. Honey, mint, smoke, pineapple, followed by waves of lime juice acidity. Incredible.

    November 30, 2019 - Fabulous.

2d or 3d bottle tasted. Fabulous, complex: caramel, citrus, persimmon, ginger. white pepper, chestnuts. Great acid backbone to balance it all. Even more complex after an hour.
    Thanksgiving 2019.

September 17, 2018 - First time trying Kalin. Enjoyed it tremendously. Nutty and lively. Oxidative. Dried apricots and nuts on the nose. Lemon curd, blood orange zest, rhubarb and toasted almonds on the palate. Fantastic acidity. Great wine.

December 18, 2017 - Tasted again, another bottle, and it is showing very well. Great acidity, complex mature fruit flavors, and a long finish. Seductive.

September 10, 2017 - Tasted again. Dry, Fruit flavors have evolved into a caramel-like flavor which is now even more noticeable on the front end, followed by iron and other mineral flavors. Slightly maderized.

August 25, 2017 - Madison Offline 2017; 8/24/2017-8/26/2017: An unusual funky profile, once again. Mint and bandaid, almost a faint botrytised note, mead-like, with an oxidized quality. Bit of VA to boot. To my palate, this is not good Chardonnay, but the sheer oddness of this wine makes me smile. The profile would usually lead me to assume this is a flawed bottle, but it is similar to every other bottle of Kalin Chardonnay I've tasted. No way to score this one.
