February 9, 2021 - On the nose pnp great showing a lot blackcurrant, vanilla, something essential, toasted bread, cowboy saddle ;-)
On the palate fine natural sweetness, a cool blueberry touch, then dry herbs, licorice, a little red paprika, very cabernet s. like, slightly drying, but fine tannin, nice length. In very good shape and harmonie right now. Drink! (or hold) 92-93

February 8, 2021 - Transparent dark red --- Nose blackberry jam, red currant, green pear, some ketch up flavors, flowery aspects, nice sourness, elegant wood notes, cardboard --- Palate tasty, nice fruit aspects, dark and red fruit, nice sourness, elegant, classy, bitter chocolate, cocoa, some cinnamon, rather strong tannins, spicy, some ash, burnt wood notes, earthiness, some black tea, mushrooms --- Finishes pretty long on its minerality and dark fruit aspects. Classy, elegant and tasty. Light footed beauty. Impressive vine. Zalto Burgundy glass provided additional pleasure.

January 3, 2021 - Very elegant. Tannins are smooth and the wine velvet. Classic notes in both nose and mouth. Very long taste. Provides a lot of pleasure at the moment.
It is beginning the journey in tve mature phase and will be fun to follow over the coming 10-15 years.

January 1, 2021 - Tomahawk steak last night with chips called for something classic and reliable and this Ch. Batailley 2009 was perfect. Two hour decant. Cassis on the nose with a touch of cedar. In the mouth it was tart cherries with the fine pencil shavings. Quite a light elegant Batailley.. in comparison to the 10 being more concentrated... both delicious though.

December 31, 2020 - Dark Red hue, modest aroma opening after 2hrs. Smooth first taste, limited tannins, not too complex but fresh, smooth, some spice, dark fruits - dark red cherries, currants. Quick finish medium linger - nothing strong to note. Good wine but far from a great bordeaux
