March 21, 2024 - Yum. Opened a bottle that was coravined twice in the past 6-8 months.

Very very lovely - tertiary notes immediately present and strong from opening the bottle. Lovely leather, oak, cinnamon and tobacco on the nose. The concentration of black fruit is still there, harmoniously balanced by licorice, leather and forest floor. This is a pleasure.

New hack for accelerated aging perhaps? This tastes more like a 20 year old giscours at this stage.

March 14, 2024 - 2 hour decant. seemed simple vs. complex. Tannins fully integrated, but nothing special on the palate. Try again in 18 months.

February 23, 2024 - The wine has medium intensity, fruit flavors have almost completely changed into aging aromas. Leather, Umami like Chinese spice and and a bit of a „amarone taste“, which might be the remnants of an earlier cherry flavor. Tannins are soft. Alcohol is well integrated. Nothing disturbs, nothing wows. In the glass, the wine does not change, I can’t detect complexity. To me no intellectual challenge, nothing to think about, but nice. I think further aging will not lead to any improvement. Nice experience, but for the price (130€) will not purchase more.

February 16, 2024 - Similar to my past reviews. 45 min decant and drinking well. Plenty of fruit. More air would be even better but it didn’t last long.

January 27, 2024 - Very thankful for all the recent notes. This bottle was in a great place. Age has started to impart its finesse and this wine still has enough structure to leave you thinking there is more to come… only wish I had a few more of the 2009. Drink now or wait, bottle was better than I expected.

January 5, 2024 - Excellent wine, rich, a bit of oak, sort of 1/2 new world style but still very Bordeaux, ripe year; rich and deep cab notes, complete opposite of the Duhart 2015 which was surprisingly a bit thin, tannic, esp for '15! 日本人パーテー

December 27, 2023 - Nice bouquet of ripe blackberries, jam, mint, undergrowth. Full, lush palate of berries, jam, some freshness. Great wine. Still young but a pleasure to drink now.

December 24, 2023 - Decanted for three hours. Nose of blackberry, currant, cedar, leather and dried herbs. Black fruit, cedar, tobacco, leather and spice on the palate. Very long finish with good depth. Pure and well balanced. Medium to full bodied. Served with a Swedish smorgasbord.

November 18, 2023 - Fantastic! In contrast to the 2010 that I tasted earlier this year, the 2009 is already open for business. While it still has a long life ahead of it, I would say it is squarely in its early maturity window. The nose is rockin and the finish is structured but fabulous. This will continue to get better with more time. Bottom line: Drink this while you hold your 2010 Giscours.

November 14, 2023 - A very solid and enjoyable wine, good balance with very smooth tannins showing at the end. Has the hallmarks of the vintage of ripe fruit and new oak, but is coming together very nicely.
