March 2, 2024 - Pichon Baron Longueville 2009
No decant, just pop and pour. On the nose, hints of coffee, truffle, black fruit, musky notes, funk and meat. On the palate, lots of black fruit and blackberry, hints of meat and dark chocolate, some licorice on the back palate, wood, quite a bit of spice. The finish is medium. November 13, 2023 - An hour was way too short to decant this before drinking but there’s still treated us to a beautiful and classic left bank profile along with some great 2009 fruit. Either wait until 2030 for a software version or decant for 6+ hours now for a more plush one.

October 16, 2023 - Dark purple in color. Soaring aromas of cassis and blackberries, pencil lead, graphite, bbq smoke on the nose. Palate shows a rush of sweet black fruits with good acidity, hints of pencil lead and tobacco, fine tannins and a very long finish. Classy and will probably get better from here.
