November 20, 2021 - My last bottle. The fruit has faded in relation to prior bottles. Dried herbs, plum and sour cherry. Dry and austere. Even perfectly cellared at 53 degrees (and by the way the cork was perfect after 14 years), this wine is past its prime.
February 20, 2021 - I figured at this age it wouldn't get any better so it was time. Slow ox in bottle for a couple hours, dark, rich, still has life left. I got some creamy vanilla mid palate which I wasn't a fan of. Nothing wrong with it but not exciting either.
April 25, 2020 - a very big CA cab. lots of raspberry, blackberry to me; the end has a bit too much heat IMHO. more dark red than purple and medium+ body. this is solid but not amazing. not certain how this will age...my gut is its in a peak window now as the fruit is the best part of the wine and I dont see that getting better...
August 19, 2019 - chewy and dark-wish i had more!
July 7, 2019 - Decanted for an hour and tried over two days. This was a tannic monster, but I found the fruit fading. The nose was closed but I picked up some dried herbs and plum.
April 27, 2019 - Popped & poured. Delicious. Plenty of fruit, but balanced and rich.
April 26, 2019 - More life than the 2006, more fruit and finish!
December 26, 2018 - Still had flavor and body.
December 25, 2018 - Aromas of blackberry and brambles. Ruby-garnet in color. A bit thin on the tongue, but rich with flavors of roasted red fruits, hint of spice on the finish. Should be perfect with beef roast!
December 10, 2018 - Old but a little sour for my taste. Not smooth finish.
