October 23, 2021 - Inky black color clear rim. Nose initially very tight but after decanting and waiting an hour it showed pleanty of black fruit, cedar and graphite. High acidity and abundant tannins. Palate of black berries, black plum and black currant and pretty much in that order. Secondary flavors of leather, spice and herbs especially rosemary. Finish was a bit tannic so still too young. This could age easily another 15-20 years.

October 12, 2021 - Blind tasting. No formal notes taken. With its deep colour and lack of bricking I wrongly guessed a Right Bank. Big surprise to see a Medoc! It carries a royal punch with plenty of deep dark forest berry and cherry. A stunning wine, smooth at the same time and has a light deposit fall-out. Delicious and in its prime.

August 22, 2021 - Decanted shortly before tasting. Nice nose, red and black berries, black cherries. Medium bodied, good mouth feel. A quite pleasant if not especially long finish, still a little tannic bite.

This is a fine wine that I suspect will be better in a year or three, but is enjoyable to drink now.

August 19, 2021 - Summer of 2021 Cornucopia of Wines (Dogwood Grove, Garezers, HHI): A pretty classic Bordeaux, showing red plum, cedar, and berries on a stony edge. Elegant and charming with a long finish. This is the sort of wine that shines best when it is on its own and not served as part of a broader lineup of wines. Next to a Rhone or a California cab, it tends to get shy and unfairly outshined, which is what maybe happened to it at a summer party where I popped it. But that's okay, more for me to sip.

July 23, 2021 - Short half bottle decant. Nose of violets, forest floor. Plum, red and black fruits. Silky, medium weight with fine, integrated tannins. A bit lightweight mid-palate, but very smooth with a long finish. Paired well with meat loaf.

July 3, 2021 - Decanted 40 minutes and drank over an hour with no food. From memory. No detailed notes. Knowledgeable wine person and I both loved it. In fact we’re ordering ‘20 futures based on it. Also tried with Riedl New Word Pinot glasses, and it was even better. (We have dubbed them “The Magic Glass.”)

June 17, 2021 - Dad's and Cabs 2021 - hosted by Pappas Bros. Steakhouse (Pappas Bros. Steakhouse - Houston Westheimer): Quick tasting note - I really like this wine, high Merlot blend with Cab Sauv. Great mouth feel and balance, long finish.

June 16, 2021 - Dekantert. Relativt fet og nesten kremet. For høy syre til t det er tilfelle. Selv om den åpenbart er for ung, er den gøy å drikke.
