November 1, 2020 - Great wine, open directly and developed fine. maybe just a tiny bit thin to get my full attention.

February 17, 2020 - There is much to like here. The wine offers a noble bouquet of aromas that includes ripe black cherries, bay leaves, and black truffles. On the palate, the wine is weighty and intense, leaving a sensation that my mouth is coated with pigments. I like the wine's rich, chocolate-y mouthfeel -- so typical of merlot. This wine is balanced and expressive now, but I think I will enjoy it more as it softens with age. The thick, lip-smacking fruit is currently a bit too intense for me.

I don't drink all that much Bordeaux due to my sense that it's overhyped and thus overpriced. But maybe I have it all wrong. I bought this wine at ten years old for $40/bottle. That seems like a bargain.
