September 25, 2021 - I brought this to a gala wine dinner with friends. several others had brought Insignia so we were able to cobble together an interesting vertical of 1989, 2000, 2007 and this 2008. The 2008 was certainly approachable but the least ready of the 4. One could certainly identify the Insignia "heritage" but this was lighter in body than other bottles I have tasted. Still very good with Black raspberry, boysenberry, plum, coffee and a smokiness on the palate. Given the strength of the tannic backbone, I would probably hold this for another 5 years but it did not disappoint.

August 7, 2021 - Not nearly as "big" a wine as I expected based on other vintages we've had. Opened three hours before decanting and then serving. We found minimal solids. Beautiful, but not strong nose. The fruit is solid and holding up well. Nice mouthfeel and persistent aftertaste that seemed to taste too much like alcohol.

July 19, 2021 - Decanted for 2 hours and it took another 30 min in glass to begin to open up even more. Very good wine. Well integrated with minor terciary development, but in a good place. It will get better with another 3 years or so in bottle.

July 9, 2021 - Decanted two hours. This is a nice big Insignia that's great as a steak wine but not as sublime as some vintages of this, at least at the moment. Standard Napa Cab profile of black and red currants, licorice, supple tannins. Many years ahead.

May 30, 2021 - Very good and well into secondary development with 2 hours of air time. I expect this wine will continue to improve for 5 years or more.
