October 26, 2021 - Balanced and nice fruit. Not a huge wine--a pleasant wine. Shared for a night with neighbors celebrating an October full moon on a beautiful NC evening and it was enjoyed by ALL--even some who were not big wine drinkers.

June 10, 2021 - Really have enjoyed all of Ramey's Cab productions. This was decantered over 2 hours and though bold, softened over time, blending perfectly with an eggplant parmigiana dinner. You felt the roundness and fruit typical of Napa cabs and worth adding again at this price range.

January 10, 2021 - Cork was gone but wine was still wonderful. Flavorful and amazingly bright for its age

March 17, 2020 - Excellent and drinking very well right now. Dark youthful appearance with a pink rim. Intense fruity aromas, lovely dark fruit with some vanilla, cedar and mineral on the palate. The alcohol that others have noted did not bother me so perhaps has integrated with time. The highlight of my quarantined day.

January 30, 2019 - Very good Napa Cab. Decanted 1 hour. Beautiful nose. Smooth with lots of flavors. The alcohol was too prominent on the finish.

June 11, 2017 - W steak from bbq. Great wine! Cork was bad but didnt affect the wine. Beautiful dark color, with good elegant nose. On palate this was not your typical calicab but insteaf a medium bodied full lemgth wine. Fruit was dark. Good finish and pretty fresh for 2003.

January 31, 2017 - This is drinking great right now, with plenty of life left. Proves that 2003 was under rated. Super dark with slight bricking. Very perfumed. Some alcohol showing on the palate. Would love to have more.

October 20, 2015 - Just a hint of orange at the edge of a dark ruby core. Nose showing black cherry, toasted vanilla bean, saddle soap. Full, sweet, still has a nice acidic lift on the finish. if you still have Dave Ramey's '03 Diamond Mountains that have been properly stored they are a treat.

February 16, 2015 - After 2 hour decant this wine settled down to offer a great balanced rewarding experience, almost like Bordeaux blend. Plenty of time to go. (from a magnum)
