  July 2, 2022 - An Epic Summer Wine Weekend; 7/1/2022-7/3/2022 (Muskoka, Ontario, Canada): This pours translucent ruby with light bricking. Great color considering the age and vintage. The nose is expressive and complex. Classic Pomerol. Classic Consellainte. Aromas are of plum, truffle, lavender, green tobacco leaf, gravel, sweet cedar, and just a whiff of grapefruit zest. Just a gorgeous profile. The palate is very layered delivering in waves. The plum on entry is rich and round an sweet, turning to medium minus, almost low tannin, medium acid, and a lovely truffle note on the mid-palate. The finish lingers, but isn't as long as the great vintages, getting a little clipped. This is a great bottle of wine and I think most tasters scored it around this level. Great sleeper vintage for this legendary producer. Surprisingly, really no rush to drink this either. It's solidly in its wheelhouse, but well kept bottles like this should hold at this level for a while.

  Leather, a little Brett, plum, earth, a little perfumed top note, underpin, smells fresh. Medium plus intensity acidity fruit more present than the nose implies, soft tannic burr, fully engaging, slight alcohol warmth lends a touch of peppery. Lovely, shows its age with time in the glass.

  November 25, 2018 - Unmistakably Pomerol. Gravelly dark fruit with hints of spruce, spiced rum cake, deep soil tones and bell pepper. Saddle leather and a faint horse note on the tail end, definitely some brett here, but not off putting. Super elegant with fully resolved tannins that provides for a supple, refined presence on the palate. With air, a distinct bakers chocolate note became apparent on entry and was accompanied by a plusher mouthfeel.
