September 3, 2019 - As per my original note with a bit more fruit and a tad less tannic bite. Coming along nicely - breathe well.
No rush at all - would expect further improvement. 90+

August 23, 2019 - Körsbär och örter, lite läder och syra och lite tunna och vattniga toner. Den saknar lite kraft och kropp för att bära upp sin stil och sin karaktär. Bra, men hade kunnat bli suverän med en annan struktur.

August 14, 2019 - Classic, old-style claret, with ample fruit, oak, and layers of complexity.

July 6, 2019 - Un peu plus ouvert que l’an dernier mais toujours pas près. Attende 2 ou 3 ans

June 14, 2019 - Deep purple color. Perfumed dark fruit nose leading into flavors of casis, clove, and a touch dark cherry. A bit extracted in a more modern generic style, but a good balance of fruit and acidity. The tannins are half resolved giving structure to what is still a pretty primary wine. Barely entering its drinking window with a good 8-10 years left to its drinking window.

(Château Les Ormes de Pez) Dark ruby color; appealing, tart currant, herbaceous nose; tasty, tart currant, cedar, tart cherry palate; needs 3-plus years; medium-plus finish 92+ points (a relatively good value)

(Chateau Les Ormes de Pez (St Estèphe)) A sweet, aromatic, very toasty nose. Lots of roasted nut, sweet fruit, almost a caramel edge here too, barrel notes that will fade with time. Supple, weighty, a richly fruited palate. Fleshy, very rounded on the palate, the tannins are broad and velvety but well covered by the weight of fruit. Sooty and yet creamy at the same time. Very approachable. There is a good seam of bright acid to it though, and the grip and backbone comes out from behind the fruit in the finish. All very well composed, this will give some pleasure-filled drinking in the future. A great effort for Ormes de Pez.

(Chateau Les Ormes de Pez St Estèphe) This wine has a vibrant hue, and a nose of dark cherry and damson fruit, with a sweet and rather roasted character. Rather bold on the palate, with a nice firm substance. There is a ripe core of tannins, vigorous acids. This is very well composed and a real success on the commune. Bravo for this consistent over-performer!
