March 25, 2019 - Perfect storage at Wine Society, perfect cork. No signs of maturity and quite youthful. Ripe, rich and not really Gamay like. However I must admit that I'm not so familiar with Moulin-a-Vent. There is a quite a bit of spice on this. I would have guessed grenache from the Rhone. I suspect the 2009 heat is having quite an impact on this. Perhaps lacking a little freshness for my palate. Very good quality though.

February 7, 2019 - Nice enough, but doesn't excite. No signs of bricking, just a nice deep red with a ruby rim. The structure is quite prominent with very subtle fruit. Lots of oak, tea and smoke. I liked this better on release and wonder if the oak will ever integrate. UPDATE: I left the remains in the fridge for 3 days and then revisited. What a transformation! The harsh, coarse, smoke/tar/oak had dissipated and a smooth, complex, layered, Côte de Beaune-like wine remained. Perhaps I will let my remaining bottles age for another 10 years.

February 6, 2019 - Ripe black cherry, maturing gracefully with good weight and good+ balance. Very good now, better than when last tasted in 2016.

January 28, 2019 - Opened 3 hours without decant. Deep red color. Completely enjoyable from bright fruit with earth and spice components on the nose through a lengthy finish with acidity and some mineral. Not a contemplative wine, but very refreshing, interesting enough and so great with food. No signs of deline.

October 20, 2018 - Similar to previous notes. Drinking very well - lashings of dark red fruit with lively acidity supporting a medium final. Great refreshment and impeccable balance. Such good value wine - cannot recall anyone not enjoying this over the 7 or so years I have been going through my stash.
