September 22, 2019 - I bought 6 of these on release and I think this is the 4th I've opened. The first three were pretty good but eons away from great. This one was different: the wood has finally begun to integrate, the mid-palate has filled out, the fruit has mellowed, and the minerals are sparkling. This is aging more like a nice Cote Charlonnaise Burg than Bojo, but it has a lovely tart cranberry note that reminds you that it's Gamay you're drinking.

August 11, 2019 - It seems like folks are drinking through their oh-nines, now that we're a decade out, so I thought I'd follow on the trend. The color seems an opaque brown-raspberry, swirls calling up mostly oak in the first few minutes. After some time, I pick-up a green scent, of celery, broccoli or something of that ilk. It's turned into a complex bouquet with floral perfumes, wood, sour fruits, and fresh greens -- reminiscent of a smoothie at a heath bar. On the palate, this drinks like its in its prime time - great mid-palate, a zing on the tip of the tongue, lots of sweet and sour and tangy flavors zipping around. There's an extreme finish, and after a minute, the slightest burn of alcohol on my already scratchy throat. But it's hard to deny the flavor intensity, balanced mouthfeel, and overall pleasure here. If you have a bottle, I'd definitely urge an opening to try this at its prime.

July 15, 2019 - For my taste, this vintage has reached its prime drinking window.

June 25, 2019 - Consistent with previous notes. Still going strong.

March 25, 2019 - Perfect storage at Wine Society, perfect cork. No signs of maturity and quite youthful. Ripe, rich and not really Gamay like. However I must admit that I'm not so familiar with Moulin-a-Vent. There is a quite a bit of spice on this. I would have guessed grenache from the Rhone. I suspect the 2009 heat is having quite an impact on this. Perhaps lacking a little freshness for my palate. Very good quality though.
