May 31, 2008 - Rubi levemente atijolado. Aromas de ameixas, cedro, balsâmico, couro. Na boca boa acidez com taninos macios, bom corpo, boa fruta.
Novamente o balsâmico, casca de laranja, ameixas. Final longo. 89-90 pts. Bem típico.

The color was a dark ruby, almost opaque with big legs. The nose was large, with chocolate, vanilla, cassis, some sur maturite notes, licorice, baking spices, and sugar cured bacon. The mouthfeel was full and lush with an overripe candied note that was pleasing in its own right, if not entirely my preferred style. Chocolate covered cherries and cassis were the main fruits. A stylish wine. I am embarrassed to say my blind guess. Only one of us was even close. 90pts for me, but I'm probably being unfair.

October 14, 2005 - Dark red. Nice fruit. The aromas are a little like a young vintage port but not as intense. On the palate there are nice, well rounded tannins, good acidity and structure with hints of cherry and marion berry.

May 21, 2005 - Plummy core nose of fruit, dark spices, asphalt, wet dirt and burnt raisin.
There's a very small hint of corked deep into the wine, I don't taste it it the palate so it must be minute. Normally when I taste even a hint of cork originally, I can't finish the glass as it becomes horribly profuse quickly. I've had this wine over two days and it hasn't gotten any more offensive as a hint, so I almost question if it is corked or a if it's a strange cardboard characteristic .
I am pretty sensitive to TCA.
The palate is quite brambly, ripe but maturing plum and spice, sexy-softening but slightly dusty tannins. It's really all about the core fruit here, and it's nicely structured with acid.
Solid core fruit, decent if not delightful intensity of palate finish.
French and American oak ??? It was obviously used as an moderately and effecting only the finish slightly.
That was really good, and I forgot I had another bottle. A nice little treat that has loads of life left, I'd give it 3-5 more years for it to really sing.
    It's a solid little wine
