June 23, 2019 - Menthol, spice, dark red fruits, tobacco. Still pretty dense and structured. Bit of a muddled, short finish. I don’t think this is going anywhere interesting.
February 5, 2013 - I would liked to have given this bottle more opportunity to breathe prior to drinking it. I brought it to a restaurant however and couldn't very well have it open before hand. We decanted about an hour before drinking.
The wine was tight at the start with a sharp but pleasant nose. It continued to blossom as time went on with the best tastings coming near the end at around the two to two and a half hour mark. Blackberry and cranberry notes coming through the center.
There's upside with this vintage and I will probably wait a couple or a few years before tasting again.
February 18, 2012 - Russk Tal's tasting at mustang for wsw
November 12, 2011 - Nice. Dark in color. Full and rich on the palate. Big finish.
November 3, 2011 - $35 less $10 discount: took a little while to open but then a nice blend of Italy and fruit and dark flavor. Would not buy at $35.
February 7, 2011 - Typical IGT with really nice nose and front of palate, but does wane a bit at the end not really creating a lasting impression. Not bad but probably not worth the $$$
January 13, 2011 - Served double blind, rated blind. Very dark ruby, almost opaque. Menthol, spearmint, and candied red fruit on the nose. Spice, dark fruits, and tobacco on the full bodied palate. Medium finish that is rather reticent. Overall a nicely built wine with fine structure that is still a bit wound up on the back end. Some upside here. 89+.
May 6, 2010 - Nose
Varm fruit and some really nice raspberries on the nose. It also got a really really dark colour. Come to think about it, it smells like chocolatecovered raspberries.. Yummy!
Palate
A really yummy wine, nice tannin that are not to sharp. Alitlle high on acidity, but it´s not trowing the wine of.
Conclusion
The wine is good, and not to heavy. For me it´s a no-buy, it´s overpriced, at least here in Norway. And I love raspberries!
It´s a no-go
