November 22, 2023 - Delicious slightly tart red cherries, spice, and forest floor notes on the nose and layered palate with refreshing acidity on the long finish.

November 2, 2023 - When first opened, this had gorgeous aromas of dark pinot fruit and some savory herbal qualities. But the palate wasn't fully open and the acidity and stem tannin was too prominent. With a couple of hours open, the palate filled out nicely as the fruit emerged to buffer the structure. But the aromas had closed up some. I enjoyed it, but at the end of the day it just wasn't harmonious. It certainly may find its way there with further cellar time, but then again it may not. I think Rhys may not have quite had the extraction/stem inclusion/oak level quite dialed in this early. The '08s have continued to be somewhat burly in a way that leaves one wondering about their further potential.

October 19, 2023 - Comes on strong but by the time the length comes around, its tapered off completely. We’d have liked it more if it hadn’t had such a strident, tart entry, and instead had saved some of that tart fruity energy for the mouth… and especially the length.

At age 15, this is out last bottle.

March 16, 2023 - Still youthful, beginnings of some tertiary notes. Quite big and dark (for 12.8%). Enjoyable.
