October 15, 2019 - Purchased from the winery library. Neck fill, clean cork. Color is dark garnet with bricking around the edges. Nose of dark leather and slight sweetness. Full/med mouth feel. Tannins are present but fading. Acid is sharp and finish short. Paired with chicken parmigiana. Nice surprise for a 12 year Napa zin.

November 24, 2014 - Smooth, fruit-forward Zin with long finish, good overall balance. Drank well on it's own and then with BBQ ribs. At a good place in it's drinking window.

August 17, 2013 - Dark ruby in color. Notes of dark fruit, tobacco, vanilla. Good mouth feel, if a touch thinner than other Zin's tried this evening. A nice balance overall. A few thought it a tad acidic, but others thought it perfect for food. Good grip without going overboard. Nice lengthy finish. Although this wine split the group a bit, it was still highly regarded by many of our 12 person tasting panel. The consensus was this would be incredible with BBQ!

It was an experiment for me, and required self-control to not keep drinking it. 2nd night. Smooth, a little lighter, not as fruity, and also in a very good way. This wine, like all the others I've tasted, delivers. But it was really great to see a different side of this wine on the second day. It's like match it with bar-b-q the first day and then a rich steak the second.
