March 9, 2024 - PoP. Opulent and masculine from the start. The first 30-45mins allowed the funk to dissapate. Next 3hours didnt change the wine much. Very masculine, dark and Intense. 93pts but potentially 94-95pts with 4-6hours of air.

October 29, 2023 - Decanted for 1 hour and then consumed over the next 2. Glorious high toned nose of sandalwood, clove, spice and mineral laden red fruits that explodes from the glass. The palate is still tight, rich and deep red cherry fruit, silky and luxurious but still clenched and drying on balance. Just a beautiful wine, with a lot of upside from here.

October 20, 2023 - Beautiful clear ruby with a halo around it. Belies its age. Warm smells of the soils - you can almost smell the heat in the soil. Well evolved and beautifully resolved. Softness. Floral notes. Pencil. Graphite. Soft Unami. After opening up, dark cherries but almost stewed like a luxardo but not as sweet. Soft cedar notes. Bright acid but not overwhelming. Balanced tannins with a long road ahead.

October 6, 2023 - Lafon Montrachet vertical with some great champagne and reds. (Four Seasons, Minneapolis, MN): Tasted alongside the '93 and '10. Dark color. Less structured than the '93. Asian spice, some tobacco, stems. Soft mouthfeel. Long pleasant finish. Is there enough structure for long term aging??

September 15, 2022 - Million dollar nose right upon opening. Stemmy elements marry ripe red fruit, animalic and earthy elements. Dense and ripe palate but precise and fresh. Feels young still. 98-100

September 13, 2022 - This has the nose, aromas and body to get us to 100 points once remaining tannins are resolved. Wonderful wine.

October 26, 2021 - La Tâche 1985-2010 Vertical NYC (Le Pavillon NYC): Interesting when tasting this and 10 side by side. This is evidentaly riper notes of black fruit, much darker in color. Different than its sister which was instant on, it took about 30 mins to gain more weight and depth in the glass. Tea and leather notes started to show up over time.
As alleged it was fat, powerful and flamboyant for both the nose but more so on the palate.

This wine also lasted the entire 5-hr tasting event, an incredible wine!

October 26, 2021 - La Tâche Vertical (Le Pavillon): Comparable to the ’10 alongside but perhaps a little less striking, but this is splitting hairs. Beautiful floral stems. Palate is vibrant and primary and again maybe slightly less powerful than the ’10. This too is surprisingly open and accessible right now and has great power with soft and easy edges. I think I may prefer this to the ’05 right now, only because this is more open for business at the moment. Each of the wines in this flight have terrific staying power and long flavourful finish.
