August 27, 2022 - Drunk for dinner with beef fillet. Colour of deep dark garnet. Stewed ripe plums, and dark fruits. The tannins are soft and there is a sweetness on the fruit - in quite a modern style. In the mouth the wine is velvety, smooth and rich with nice length. Not a particularly challenging or intellectual wine but a real crowd pleaser that is drinking very well.

September 4, 2019 - Have had a fair bit of bottle variation with these over the last 4 years...but the good ones have been great, and luckily this was in that category, Showing age in the now tawny-tinged colour, but the fruit remains still with a lovely bouquet and very harmonious finish. only 1 left, will drink sooner rather than later.

June 17, 2019 - Had this first time in 2013 where it impressed, with potential.
Found it in 2017 where it was stunning. Mature, in perfect ballance, like velvet in the mouth and great lenght.
Now I found a bottle, unfourtunately kept upright in Living room temperature.
Bad bottle as feared... But no argument. The boss acted professionally.

January 18, 2018 - Dense, concentrated, a little jammy - dark fruit, plums, cherries, smoke, spices on the nose. Powerful and generous on the palate. Good acidity, layered fruit, slightly spicy, maybe a bit heavy, very long. Drink or keep. 92-94

October 16, 2014 - Normally one of my favourite able to live +7 years but I think something evil happened to this bottle. Over the top, over ripe, like poor sherry, nothing like the Taberner I've loved since long.

February 19, 2011 - Really interesting nose of coffee grounds, maple syrup and stewed fruits.
The palate is gorgeous! A good mix of dark fruits, coffee, current leaf and spice give this a very well rounded feel. The body is big and hides the 14.5% alc well while retaining a sense of freshness. Well balanced.
    Outstanding Quality. 91+ pts.
    Drink now - 2020.
