October 13, 2023 - Beautiful burnt orange-red in the glass, fragrant nose of aged fruit, earth, a bit of the barnyard. After decanting for an hour or more, still quite tight. Time hasn’t been bad to this in terms of texture and softened complexity but am skeptical there was ever that much here - I think this is a restrained, conservative, earth driven wine. I’d drink up.

August 2, 2023 - Enjoyed with John Steele and Jack at Rocky. Took a little while to open up, but this was a wonderfully concentrated, slightly tart wine with prominent red fruit flavors.

December 21, 2022 - Opened last night and was disappointed at first. Bit of brett on the nose (which normally I don't mind) but sadly also had quite a bit of VA, which I really hate, and totally overpowered everything. Then I was like, oh duh, why don't you decant it and see what happens (slaps forehead). Gave it about an hour and it became a different wine. But is STILL tasted some VA which was disappointing and was stuck on my palate so I can't fairly comment on the experience. Have more in my cellar and next time I open one I will decant it beforehand and see whats what.

November 10, 2021 - Tasted with Xavier94 and agree with much of his note. It’s mainly secondary, herbal and a bit over-oaked. Balanced nonetheless and far less fresh than their ‘08 Beaune 1er tasted alongside.

November 9, 2021 - (Domaine; Mise Tardive 7 Ans). This was a perplexing wine and I’m glad I had the opportunity to taste it on day 2 as well. There is a cocoa powder, dusty quality on this wine that hides the otherwise red licorice, underbrush type/woodsy aromas married to cherry coulis sauce. A bit tight and dried out today with a bit of wild herbs and oak influence still. Impressive width and structure for. Volnay but I guess that’s Santenots for you. Going nowhere in a hurry.
