November 29, 2018 - Wonderful and still fresh after 11 years in bottle. Started off slightly closed with light redcurrant, strawberry, and a hint of darker plum, plus a high-quality oak note that bordered on sandalwood or cedar. A touch of savory cool climate "forest floor" character maybe extra pronounced by the age. Very addictive.
After a couple hours and a little decanting, the fruit got a little darker (ripe dark cherry, maybe fig?) but much more pronounced on the nose, while the acid heightened tremendously. Floral notes became present. Lots of classic pinot noir elements in play!
This reminded me of a highly-rated pinot noir or two I've tasted from the santa cruz mountains- maybe 25% less intense, but half the price. Excellent quality for $45 or so.

March 18, 2011 - Big shouldered but balanced. Definite pine notes, unripe berries, almost minty. Zesty acidity and a long lovely finish. What I liked about this wine is that it doesn't taste like very other domestic Pinot out there. It's a bit big for my taste, but it certainly reflects it's terroir and a unique personality.
