May 11, 2017 - World's Greatest - Night I (Eleven Madison Park): Nose is supremely elegant, clean, and pure. The '88 is the most expressive out of the flight and has some soily notes coming through. Fresh Strawberry and raspberry fruit. This is spectacular. This finish on each of these these Jayer Cros Ps is like a French kiss. With more time the '88 has serious vosne spice too.
May 11, 2017 - Dark soil and nice funk. Good depth here. Slightly clunky on the edges but nice weight and complexity overall.
November 22, 2016 - Still dense soil tones with hints of licorice and dark fruit. Composed nose required 30-45 minutes to open. Palate intact with austere dark fruit, dry soil notes and hints of jerky. However the finish is starting to trend towards acid, and acid alone. This bottle was past peak but still with some remaining years ahead of it
July 10, 2015 - Another magnum, expectations run high
November 15, 2014 - Magnum from Zachys
January 18, 2013 - definitely expressing good qualities; nice fruit, good texture and long finish; a real winner.
March 2, 2012 - Quick impressions LP: yes great wine but feels still very young - from mag
January 24, 2012 - Dinner with RH, SC (Pak Lok): Ruby with bricking rims. Wonderful mix of red, black fruits, Vosne spices and earth. Defining purity, excellent length and clean finish.
November 7, 2010 - Burgundy Trip - Day 1 - Lunch (La Colline du Colombier): A wonderful wine to round off a sensational line-up. Intense wine but more open and floral than the Echezeaux. This will go on for another few decades with ease.
July 26, 2008 - Served from magnum. The comment I heard most often from other tasters was "so young" or "so tight." One doesn't hear that too often about a 20 year old Burgundy. This wine is lush, rich, and sexy with layers of opulent fruit. But it does take some time to come around, it's a wine to enjoy over hours. A treat, to put it mildly. A+
