  October 23, 2022 - pop and pour with assessment over about an hour with various tomato-sauced Italian foods (why is this guy drinking a Pinot with that? 😆). On the nose, red fruit, sandalwood, some baking spice, mineralite and a bit of VA balsamic. In the mouth these follow through with a notable spicy addition. Good very long long finish. Tannins still evident. Glad I purchased a few of these in 2011.
  
  I also note that there appear to be two separate entries in CT for what’s likely the same wine…this one going to the group that specifies the Chehalem Mountains AVA.

  August 10, 2015 - Popped and poured, dark ruby hue, faint haze. Nose of black cherries, black raspberry and vegetal funk with notes of vanilla-spice and smoke from oak. Spice notes and an impression of minerals come about with additional aeration. Medium-plus body, nicely concentrated. Initially, the palate shows red and dark fruits which veer on the riper side. However, as this opens the flavors completely morph from somewhat ponderous into a delightfully fresh expression of spice-laden red cherry fruits which seem overtly OR in presentation, albeit on a somewhat larger scale (which could be purely owing to vintage).   May 3, 2015 - Medium dark red color. PNP, drank one glass over an hour, then decanted the next glass for about 90 minutes. The initial glass was muted on the nose with cherry, very subtle dry earth. The palate was tart, dried cherry, underbrush, dry firm tannins, stems, red currant, probably 87pts over that hour. The decanted glass was definitely better, more open on the nose with cherry, more notable dry forest floor, and some crushed herbs. The palate still is a bit of a mixed bag, sour powdered cherry fruit, tart cherry, underbrush, stemmy, darker fruit, spice and ground herbs. We'll see if this goes any further tomorrow. Disappointing showing so far. Follow up on day 2 and 3. Maybe a little more interest in the nose and the mid palate shows some additional depth to the fruit, but it totally falls apart on the finish still. Plenty of alcohol showing and a very sharp, wooden finish. Hate to say it, but I'm glad this was the last one. Disappointing.
