February 16, 2024 - Unlike the previous bottle I found this a bit one-dimensional. Big fruit, soft tannins, and lacking structure. Is this a phase, as the previous bottle hit the spot much better.

February 16, 2024 - My palate is much, much more geared towards the Médoc but I have had some nice Pomerols over the years which I enjoyed. This was offered for $79 at my local retailer which I thought was a good price, given the Chateau and the outstanding vintage.

It was, unfortunately, a big disappointment. A big wine at 14.5% and still young, so I gave it several hours of air which it needed. Too fruity and more like a big Californian wine. Also, tannins were too soft for my liking! I think it would benefit from 10 more years of cellaring. The same store has several other 2009s from the Médoc at a similar price which knock the socks off this wine! I guess it’s just my preference!

October 8, 2023 - This wine has aged very well. Medium to full bodied with a serious old world vibe. Forest floor, licorice, black cherry on the nose. The tannins are silky smooth with moderate acidity with some herbal notes on the tongue. The wine has a nice extended finish

August 15, 2023 - I have enjoyed this wine, but it never quite evolved to where I thought it might go. It is classic Pomerol. It has a soft nature and can be paired with food that one might usually pair with a Pinot Noir or a White.

August 12, 2023 - Beautiful bouquet with soft dark berries, some earth, licorice, laurel and some lovely sweet impression in the bouquet. Same on the palate; dark berries, chocolate, sweet licorice, ripe dark berries, beautiful acidity and round tannin. Showing some development and also still some soft power. Early and beautiful maturity stage now. Is it worthwhile to wait any longer for more finesse and complexity? I honestly don’t know.
