May 17, 2024 - Needs a longer decant to really let the flavours come out.
Nose: Dark fruit, pencil shavings
Palette: Dark fruits - plum, blueberry. Licorice, tar, spice on finish. Strong tannins but smooths out with decant
Paired with grilled steak - delicious! Will be interesting to see how this evolves in a few years
December 31, 2023 - Decanted 30 minutes; tight, licorice, leather, black current, dark cacao,black raspberry, dusty, rock,river stone, barn loam, sweet cedar, dark cigar leaf,baking spice, hint of crème de cassis
December 14, 2023 - Color: dark ruby
Smell: peppery, rose - ok
Taste: green bell peper, cedar
Finish: lingers - good
November 11, 2023 - Dark ruby hue. Medium-plus tannins and acidity. Notes of bell pepper, blackberry, blueberry, bramble, and tar. Stark on the nose, but brilliant and smooth on the palate, with grippy tannins. 51 Merlot, 42 Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7 Petit Verdot.
October 19, 2023 - Finding these hard to resist right now tbh. Purity, class and classicism. Drinking beautifully. Everything one wants in a reasonably priced BDX.
October 14, 2023 - This was incredible. And what great value at $40. I must buy more.
June 9, 2023 - Essentially, perfect claret. Drunk 2 bts with rack of lamb etc. Wine took 20 mins or so to get going but then was dense, had excellent fruit balance, all the classic notes: tarmac, leather; great power for a St Estephe.
March 17, 2023 - Decant 2 hrs. Very dense, blackish red, rim still young. Smoky, dark fruit, Christmas cake bq, also tobacco notes, Powerful, structured wine w sandy tannins, good acidity, fresh fruit. Medium length aftertaste w plenty of dark fruit. Some alcohol at the end. Not complex, but good balance and good QPR. Will last 5-10 yrs, but quite nice now.
December 29, 2022 - Rancid. Over-alcoholized. Tannins not well integrated.
November 29, 2022 - A bit special. Terrific now. Try it and you’ll see what I mean.
