July 11, 2021 - 15th of 24, opened 2 hours, perfect cork and level, little changed from last bottle noted in March 20, in top form very long and persistent, complex, nice acidic lift, tannins now fully integrated, balance for long haul but little upside from here. F+ (18).

June 20, 2021 - Spicy nose with cedar and berries. The palate is silky and harmonious. Drinking really well, though there’s at least another decade of prime drinking here.

June 18, 2021 - deep red color just starting to brick at the rim, classic profile on the nose of cedar, cassis, plums and clove, on the palate again a very traditional feel with ripe plums and cassis, aged forest and moss notes- with textured edges of dark spices and hints of vintage saddle throughout, all of this leads into a fine full peppery finish with intense forest and pine notes and aromas, of the many top 1995 Bordeaux I have revisited in the past two years this is the only one where a classically beautiful wine on the front end has led into a classic and lengthy finish to match, the balance here is superb and- for the moment- a rare thing, it gives me hope that perhaps some other 1995s will get to a better place with good finishes, but for now this is one 1995 you can revel in without worry, time in hand and perhaps a bit more development to come- but this is in a perfect place right now and drinking beatifully.

****+, ready to go with time in hand

June 11, 2021 - Just a beautiful dusty, nutty, red-spice driven nose. This is a taut wine with a grippy finish but there is a wonderfully complex, gruff mineral and spice crunch on the backend that is really amazing. Very recognizable Ducru flavors of woodsy dark fruits, chopped cedar, tobacco and mid-eastern spices. Old-style Ducru will lots of layered depth. Needed 2+ hours in a decanter and plenty of life left. Deep and savory after 4 hours...

May 28, 2021 - Gang of 4 in Covid19 times; a celebration (@ My place): Luxurious and complex bouquet with vanilla, black olives, cassis and other black berries. Same on the palate. Complex and in fact still youthful with beautiful acidity and still some round tannin as well as pleasant bitterness. Superb and fantastic wine which can probably easily last another decade. 96+
