October 23, 2016 - Elegant, sweet and solid red fruits. Medium to full bodied.
Drinking very harmoniously. Better than Pavillon de Margaux 2005 on the same night!

April 24, 2015 - Interesting wine. Very dark. Some burnt raisins on the nose but mostly floral. Chewy in the mouth. a bit earthy. Tannins still there but fading. reminds me of much older wine.

    May 29, 2012 - Tasted at Vinexpo Asia 2012

Deep ruby in color, floral nose plus brambly red fruits, charming! Smooth and dry on the palate, not very much fruit showing here, a little simple and a slightly bitter finish!

February 25, 2012 - 2009 Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux Tasting. Ripe berries and cassis on the nose. Pallet had good structure with tart currents going on. 91-92 points.

February 1, 2012 - From a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, the wine opens with blackberry, pepper, earth and forest smells. Medium/full bodied and slightly rustic in its traditional approach, some tasters might like this more than others.

(Château Rauzan-Gassies) Very dark red violet color; cedar, tart currant, herbaceous nose; tasty, focused, elegant, tart currant, olive palate; for early drinking; medium-plus finish (75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot)

(Chateau Rauzan-Gassies Margaux) Cabernet Sauvignon 75%, Merlot 23%, Petit Verdot 2%. This wine has a black hue and a crimson rim, and a very bright nose of creamy cherry and forest fruits, presented in a very lifted, fresh and open style. The palate has a broad but creamy substance. Well-honed tannins, quite firm but svelte, bright and fresh. An elegant style within the context of the commune, and for Gassies a very good effort - probably the best wine I have tasted from this estate in a number of years.
