September 12, 2014 - My Grade: VG+. Decanted for 1 hour. Good clean cherry color, some funk on the nose with black fruit, tar, vanilla and vegetal notes. Cherry, plums and cranberries on the palate with some lemon peel notes, good length and bright, juicy, acidity on the sour-cherry finish with well integrated, fine, drying tannins. Tasty and above-average Chianti which pairs very well with food.

February 16, 2013 - Fragrant cherry nose. Fruit a little weak in the mouth and gradually overwhelmed by pronounced and lingering tannins. A decent everyday Chianti but nothing more.

July 28, 2012 - Full bodied. Well integrated tannins and acidity but could use a few more years. Nice fruit and tobacco flavors.

April 9, 2012 - Medium bodied Chianti with red berries and hints of oak leading to medium long and dry finish. Refreshing wine for tomato based dishes.

November 10, 2011 - Fairly dark, brick red color, lets some light through. A bit Rioja-like but in any case tempting nose offers bright red fruit, a good amount of leather, dry toasty oak and some dust. Lush red fruit emerges at first but soon appears the tight, palate drying acidity. Medium bodied, with plenty of bright, red sourcherry and some well integrated oak.The finish is fairly strong and spicy. Good lift, well balanced. A solid, delightfully dry and acidic CC that is at its best at below room temperature. As the temp rises up close to the modern room temp the wine loses in precision and lift and the finish gets a bit alcoholic. I feel like this could've been even better and very good actually with less oak since even now this is a good buy at under 10 €.

October 10, 2011 - Sweet and sour cherries, red flowers, raspberries and some greeness on the nose. Raspberries, fresh red currants, sweet red fruit forward, and cherry liquor, candy on the finish. Very good.

May 12, 2011 - Florence & Tuscan Holiday; 5/9/2011-5/16/2011 (Florence & Tuscany): Popped and poured. 90% Sangiovese 10% Canaiolo & Colorino. 50% matured in Slavonian oak for 12 months, 50% matured in French oak for 15 months

Nose: Very fresh with clean red fruits nicely accented by barnyard notes and cinammon. The classic blood/iron notes appear on the mid-palate along with a touch of vanilla. A deliciously appealing nose.

Taste: Fresh raspberries on the palate, once again very clean tasting with vibrant acidity and good structure. A medium bodied wine that is ready to rock now and for the next 5 years. Delicious through and through at a good price point.
