Community Tasting Notes 2

July 2, 2011 - Beautiful old bandol; there's beef blood, leather, and crisp tannin, but there's also a lightness of fruit with wild herbs; greek oregano and wild mint.

December 7, 2009 - Nose of garrigue, leather. Still a pronounced underlying acid. Nose follows w milky tones, vinyl a bit. Leathery ol' bandol horsey w some kick and some resinous herbs. Age has translated into a lightness on the palate amongst these bold tones--a nice counterpoint. Leathery violet. Like walking into a leather store, belts hanging everywhere. Still, I couldn't help but wonder if this bottle was either opened too soon or too late; difficult for me to tell.
