December 15, 2018 - Like biting into a big piece of tar soaked licorice. Medium body. I like it.

August 6, 2018 - This 2008 wine is still very good after 8 hours in the decanter and with steak aux poivres. Just as good as the other bottle I had over the years. My guests were just as appreciative as I was. For fun over the 8 hours I took a sip just about every 2 hours and effectively the bitter initial taste was fading out and the wine was really opening up. I give it a 90pts

July 24, 2016 - 2 years later I come to the same conclusion of BON VINHOS in july 2014. I left this wine 8hours in the decanter and it was a superb wine. Very Syrah like. When I opened it at 10 am it was a little bitter. At diner time 6-7 pm, it was powerful and went very well with pork longe sous-vide finish over the charcoal. Very good QPR. Altough this was the last of our 3 bottles of wine for diner, it was the best even if this is not an expensive wine.

October 14, 2014 - A very deep ruby color. The nose is a bit tight with hints of tobacco and dark berries. The palate offers blackberry, cherry, tobacco, smoked meat, chocolate, and mocha. The acidity is low, the tannins are sweet and rounded, and it finishes very smoothly.

July 27, 2014 - Once in a visit to the winery the tour guide said that one of their wines(folly)should stay open for at least 12 hours.I thought it was a bit much, and this a weekend I got proof that it may be true.I opened this bottle on friday and didn't finish it(hell of a party!),had it today(sunday)and it was much better, mellowed out and didn't have that characteristic chilean guava fruit and mint flavor that can be overwhelming sometimes. It did taste very syrah like ,no blockbuster, but hit the spot for sunday lunch!I always wanted to write a very long tasting note, thre you have it!LOL!

June 30, 2014 - Nose was fruity, but with a spicy twist. Taste was really not Syrah at all, but reminded my wife of a really good Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley, Oregon. Weird! Not a big fruit forward wine, but pleasant on the palate, spicy, cinnamon, pepper, with a good finish. Very drinkable! Interesting taste! Would buy it again if it were for sale.

August 20, 2013 - On opening the nose came as something of a shock. Meaty, feral, barnyardy aromas mixed with green peppers. Rather unpleasant! The flavour was much better than the aroma, red cherries with some more of the green pepper. Thankfully, after decanting for an hour or two the initial feral aromas as described began to dissipate, making the wine much easier to drink. An interesting wine. Decanting is highly recommended!
