November 25, 2020 - Really beautiful and special. Amazing floral nose. Elegant.

November 13, 2020 - Really lovely wine. Splash decanted and drank at cellar temp. Meaty bacon, smoke, dense black fruit and black pepper on a really intoxicating nose. Smoky and Sweet black fruit on the attack, but then a pretty stern mix of acid and fine tannins in the mid palate and a long and full finish.

October 3, 2020 - Young, even seemingly so after 4 hours of decant. On the sweet end of savory. Dark flowers, ripe plums, sweet spices, smoke.

September 11, 2020 - Nose: After a fresh hours in the decanter, the nose is flowing and open with black olives, briney notes, black cherries, licorice, violets, raspberries, plums, bacon fat, tobacco, mint, and earth tones. There is excellent depth with a savory side that is irresistible.

Taste: The feel is Medium/full bodied with silky, medium+ tannins and medium acidity. The feel is silky and dense with excellent depth as well as black cherries, raspberries, plums, black olives, briny notes, licorice, bacon fat, mint, and a whole bunch of violets on the back end.

Overall: This was in the decanter for a few hours before drinking and it helped a lot. This finally felt like a bottle of Rhys that is at maturity. There is great interplay between the rich, dark fruits along with the more savory and emerging tertiary notes.

June 28, 2020 - Purple and black fruit flavors with a pinch of pepper and green herbs. Medium+ bodied with medium+ acidity and fine grained tannins. Finishes leaving a long trail of creosote in the mouth. More about elegance than power; well made but lacks a certain je ne sais quoi.
