September 18, 2019 - This was great, still had a lot of life left to it. Would drink now as I can't see it improving, but it was really enjoyable. PnP and then drank over the next 3 hours. 30 minutes was the prime spot, after that fruit started to fade. Paired with seared scallops & spaghetti with lemon butter & herb sauce.

January 12, 2016 - Tasted blind. Very typical BdM of the elegant variety, which I like. Notes of black and red fruit, hint of dried herbs and old leather, and black olives. Very silky, good acidity on the palate, though almost with no tannin at all. Given the lack of grip on the palate I'd say drink up because it will start going down hill soon. Delicious now.

April 29, 2015 - HK Wine Society Tasting & Dinner: Mature Brunello, 1975-1998 (Langham Palace Hotel, Mongkok, Hong Kong): Tasted blind in a line-up of 12. Semi-translucent ruby-purple colour (I wrote "clearly one of the young wines"). Nose is closed and dominated by the oak. Palate was too young, heady, too much alcohol, very dry tannin, "come back in 5 years". Very surprised when it was revealed as a 1988.

October 1, 2011 - Fabulous nose and lush, rich taste. This wine is smooth, loads of fruit, medium- to full-bodied.
