Community Tasting Notes 26

January 13, 2024 - Impromtpu Dinner (Noizé): Initially funky on the nose - TCA? No - this starts to blow off. Changed my glass and this is much improved. Never quite becomes civilised on the nose, the palate is great, poised, still somewhat tightly coiled, a really engaging mature syrah. I suspect a clean bottle of this would be *great*, this was more than decent.

August 6, 2023 - Another fine bottle. Still youthful, classic balcony and sauvage red fruits. Excellent wine.

May 8, 2023 - River School Auction Tasting (Washington DC): Burly, Bretty, pretty, rustic. All there, if not the most striking or elegant wine. Enjoyable.

August 13, 2022 - I had to chill this on such a hot day but classic Cote Rotie with meaty noses and ripe, bloody fruits. Very nice.

December 27, 2020 - A lovely bottle of this. Bacon, deep red fruits and garrigue. Classic Cote Rotie now fully mature but should hold well.
