June 29, 2014 - Drinking so well now, just pure refreshment in a bottle. Love it.

July 14, 2013 - Better than the last bottle, the fruit came out a little more. Pale yellow. Bright citrus, still very minerally.

April 6, 2013 - Well balanced bottle of wine. Light yellow color. Lemon peel on the nose, although a bit aromatically challenged in the beginning. Good acidity, sour apples, earthy tones. Medium length. Good compliment to grilled fillet of cod and asparagus.

July 29, 2012 - Really solid bottle. Starts with a burst of citrus fruits then progresses to the usual mineral notes. Rounded out with decent acidity.

(HARMONIE Muscadet Delhommeau) Melon Dear Friends, Today we have an exemplary selection of Melon de Bourgogne and its right of passage with the monster that is 2009. In a similar context to Pouilly-Fume, a number of producers around Nantes bottled the finest wines of their career and today’s lot is no exception. We’ve profiled Delhommeau in the past and the wines continue to gain in strength and purity. 2009 was so strong for Delhommeau that a third cuvee presented itself, the Clos Armand – a wine available in magnum that is going to blow the doors off your preconception about what solid rock blended into a liquid medium tastes like. Critically acclaimed by Tanzer’s IWC and the WA (for past vintages), you can forget the scores and stick to the verbiage – a far more likely indicator of your potential enjoyment. In addition, this set ranks very high on the TOW CP/SC scale as well as price/value. (more on the TOW scoring method – as noted last night, there is no correct algorithm or bias to look for but, as a general rule, a cumulative score between 9-10 would be considered very high - much like 90pts or higher. You may have all 9 points on one side but it’s still 9 points. Anything with a cumulative score above 10 pts is something to pay extra attention to.) This parcel is directly from the source with perfect provenance: 2009 Delhommeau Muscadet Sevre et Maine sur lie “St. Vincent ” - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for lithe weight married to the piercing rock and acid tone of old-school Muscadet – for classicists only but a wine that everyone should try for education’s sake alone. The next time you enjoy pungent shellfish, reach for this. 2009 Delhommeau Muscadet Sevre et Maine sur lie “Harmonie” - HIGHLY RECOMMEDED as one of the emerging stars of the region, although the piercing edges favored by the St. Vincent have been slightly softened in favor of far-reaching acceptance. A Muscadet with everything in place, including its integrity – special stuff. 2009 Delhommeau Muscadet “Clos Armand” 1.5lt - From the estates oldest vines (even older than the Harmonie vines), this is built or age with a pent-up, wrought iron character that requires another year in bottle to settle. I recently tasted the 2005 version of this wine and it’s just now starting to sing. For , this magnum should prove to be an absolute steal a decade from now when a summer event requires something of intellect and intrigue – you can pull this out and wow your guests for a pittance of a price. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEDED for ageing ability and potential quality far in excess of its price. With age, this could pair with everything from cracked crab to pork loin (don’t forget, this is a magnum for , not a 750ml) Please give us your maximum number up to 12/each wine and we will allocate accordingly To order: niki@garagistewine.com This parcel is set to depart from the cave – it will arrive in the summer (please check OARS for local pick up after July 15th – it may be here sooner). It will ship during the Fall shipping season (all of the examples above will be in prime condition for the next several years so there’s no hurry – the Clos Armand for 10+ years with ease). Out of state orders will be held for free under ideal storage conditions (56 degrees/70%humidity) until shipping is possible. Locals may pick up at their leisure.
