February 13, 2024 - Enjoyed at Alpen Rose on the once in a lifetime occasion of Claudia’s 18th birthday with her friends and family. Amazing night. Bittersweet. Wine was amazing as always.

April 29, 2023 - Slow ox for two hours. Full bodied, it turns up the dial in concentration and exuberance but then has enough acidity to rein it so it doesn’t feel heavy. Developing complexity and finishes long and satisfying.

March 13, 2022 - Medium ruby color. Brooding verdant nose of black and red fruits, wet forest floor, soft spices, toasted oak, slight menthol finish. Dry, rounded acidity, silky tannins, palate follows through. Medium full body. Immaculate balance. Long lingering finish. Brilliant. Power with elegance.

February 2, 2021 - I let this 100% cab breathe in the glass for two hours before enjoying. Had a sip on first pour though Started out medium weight and was nervous. But filled out over time. Just needed a few hours out of the bottle. Not a whole lot going on with the peppery nose with minor hints of menthol and nutmeg, but the fruit is pure, polished, dense and dark. Perfect acidity level. Really fine grained but dense with a long finish. Just right for me.

May 8, 2020 - Slow oxed for an hour. Over the top perfume on this of black and red fruit with a bit of lead pencil. Despite the 15.5 percent ABV this is remarkably light on its feet for a cab with very silky tannin. The fruit is a little overly sweet for my tastes with flavors of ripe red fruits predominating combined with a little tobacco and lead pencil in the mid palate. Long finish. This drinks well today. Not exactly sure how this is going to age going forward but I am going to save my last bottle to figure that out.

March 11, 2020 - Similar notes to last time, if a little richer on the open and a little muted at the last glass. Loads of bright fruit with a tangy sage and herb finish. Amazing wine. 94-95

February 22, 2020 - Decanted for an hour. Initially tightly coiled then revealed bright red fruit, morelo cherries, chocolate, coffee, and sone secondary leather notes with a long finish ranging 20 to 40 seconds. After another hour burnt caramel notes emerged and the finish transitiined to sage and cashew. After another hour the wine faded a bit to cinnamon. Beautifully smooth and complex wine that needs to be drunk sooner than later. 95 area

September 13, 2019 - This was one of the best wines I’ve ever tasted. I opened it 3 hours before drinking but did not decant. It was ready to go and the first glass was as good as the last. A big wine at 15.5% ABV but extremely well balanced so no heat at all. Shared with a group and we all loved it.

February 16, 2019 - Decanted one hour. The wines nose is exuberant cherries, raspberries. The palate is super silky and refined with tremendous purity. Although the wine is quite high in alcohol it’s not noticeable and there isn’t any jamminess or heaviness. The palate sports flavors of cassis, raspberries, tobacco weed, and oak. The finish is very long. This is really delicious now but can continue to age for a lot longer.
