August 11, 2023 - Gold colour with a nose of nettle, burnt vegetation, dried herbs, forest floor, red apple and peach. A delicious palate off dry red apple, peach, white pepper and spice. Incredible length, I love these wines.

November 20, 2022 - If I were to describe this 09 Felsenber GG as round, soft, darker in color than expected, moderate to low acidity, one would be inclined to conclude this was subpar or just ok. Quite the opposite, this was absolutely delicious, both hedonistic and surprisingly cerebral too. A core of minerals dominates, with a playful mouthfeel. It doesn’t really have a specific fruit to describe as it seems the more tertiary elements have taken over. Smart, clean, fresh, and outstanding. I’m not sure if this is fully mature, I’m inclined to say yes, but it should hold for a good spell.

December 26, 2021 - White gold colour with a petroleum, baked apple and lemon. The palate is dry with intense citrus flavours with the baked apple present too and wonderful slate and mineral texture. Extraordinary wine.

October 25, 2020 - This wine has changed dramatically over the last 5yrs from being a linear crystalline dry Riesling to being incredibly rich and full of tropical fruit. It’s not entirely to my taste but those who like tropical fruit driven powerful Riesling’s will really enjoy this. Well suited to spicy Asian food. It’s got years ahead of it I would say and I’ll leave my remaining bottles to settle down a bit.

June 12, 2020 - Golden yellow. Apricot, nectarine, and peach fruit. Dry, but not austere. There is enough residual sugar to allow this to play nicely with food with a bit of spice. Good now.

September 17, 2019 - Horizontal tasting of the27 best 2009 German Dry Rieslings; 9/16/2019-9/26/2019 (Concept Resling 14.09.2019): semiblind
A bit lactic nose, then Tropical fruits and lime. A touch too broad , representative for the vintage, missing the precision in the finish. I preferred the Schäfer-Fröhlich same site. 92-93

July 5, 2018 - Yellow with a green tint, very healthy colour

White peach and floral tones on the nose - no petroleum whatsoever,

Quite rich on the palate, but good acidity and minerality with an excellent length. Good fruit with a spicy finish.

An excellent GG from a very good and consistant producer

March 18, 2018 - Has a bit of color, light honey gold, then a richly fruited Riesling nose, has the expected richness on the palate, quite deep and intense, though not at all overripe or ponderous; pretty decent acidity for it's size, with nice overall balance, and a long, lush finish. Some decent complexity, with just a touch of saline, and some slight mineral twists emerge as the fruit intensity dissipates on the finish. Just from my own experience with wines of this size, I wouldn't expect this to develop much more interest or complexity, probably as good as it will get.

February 7, 2018 - Light gold color—the beginnings of age? (I didn’t open one young) White peach, melon, citrus, and slate. Seamless and elegant. Long finish. Lovely.
