Community Tasting Notes 5

December 5, 2017 - Assumed this to be past it's prime, and am happy to say I was mistaken. I've had bottles of this much earlier, and they weren't this expressive. The chard and sauv blanc show greatly here. Silky texture, good acids with citrus and vanilla. Little tannin still. Fresh and bright. Such a surprise.

April 8, 2016 - BYOB Night at Foreign Legion (Foreign Legion, Mpls, MN): Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 40 minutes. Fascinating blend of of 30% sauvignon blanc, 30% chardonnay, 30% incrocio manzoni, 10% nebbiolo (off the skins). This is an intellectual wine. You will just sit and think about it, complex, aromatic, and really good. The SB shows through as does the Chard and there are clearly elements that can't be attributed to either. Very aromatic, fresh cut herbs, shellfish, lychee, citrus, brine on the nose. The palate is briny, shellfish flavors, lobster like; round with good body, nice acid, fresh herbs, lychee, citrus and tropical fruits. A fun pairing with the lobster bisque. 90+pts.

Very good quality. Ready to drink.

September 21, 2011 - Sauvignon, and 10% nebbiolo vinified white with some chardonnay and something else. Battonage, oak for 8 months. Dried grapes for 15 days as well. A food wine, kinda crazy, kinda oaked and weird. Unique, oaky, hmmm....

May 24, 2010 - Verticale Bitto e Sfurzat Nino Negri (Canonica, Milano, Italy): Non ancora in commercio, appena filtrato, giallo paglierino con riflessi verdognoli. leggermente velato. All'inizio yogurt, poi si fa strada la mela verde e poi ancora vaniglia. In bocca รจ di medio corpo, ancora molto giovane
    Finale abbastanza lungo.
