September 14, 2022 - M&PD Tasting: 1990 (Seattle, WA, USA): You know a wine has a great nose when someone decants it, and you are blasted with the nose from across the table. Just an absolute stunner. Bloody and powerful, cranberry, tobacco and mineral.

    Perfekt moden nå.
    Vakker spice og tobakk.
    Smooth som bare rakkern.
Sunn frukt med en pen fruktsødme.
Leken og elegant - drikker som en drøm.
    Nydelig balanse.
Lang finish med helt fine tanniner.
Denne er midt i smørøyet nå. 94p

August 28, 2022 - BYO Homecoming: Avrindet og flott, kompleks, behagelig, lettbeint, flott finish. Litt mindre kraft i frukten enn tidligere flasker,.

June 4, 2022 - Concentrated flavor and fruit; sweet blackberry with earthy balance; supportive and soft tannin; layered; with time will resolve more complexity; long finish.

May 17, 2022 - A simply gorgeous wine with an ethereal texture and deliciously ripe flavors of dark red fruits and a hint of menthol. Medium-bodied and so smooth and fine with a wonderfully seductive spicy finish. Fully mature now and while the '89 was ultimately fresher with more precision, this wine was hedonistic and just pure joy.

(POYFERRE Leoville) 1990/Pomerol Dear Friends, Two finds to wrap up an eventful day - thanks to everyone that has inquired regarding the Blue Hill Event - Niki will get back to everyone shortly: 2005 Lagrange (Pomerol) This wine remains an enigma and I have a parcel at less than first tranche pricing. The winery's refusal to allow most journalists from sampling (and subsequently reviewing) the wine has a US populous that would be eager to support the estate scratching their heads? 2005 was such a strong vintage in Pomerol that it would have been very difficult to mess things up. Secretive or not, this could be a major bargain a decade from now as Pomerol does not cost this little in a vintage like 2005. 1990 Leoville Poyferre 1.5lt (Saint Julien) This wine is quickly becoming a legend - it has surpassed what anyone originally thought possible. It was always highly thought of but the 750ml I had last month was among the finest wines of this precocious vintage - in magnum all bets are off. VERY RARE in magnum and sure to keep escalating in price: Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Bord8723 Bord8724
