December 26, 2022 - Seemed "very 2003", lacking the trademark Maume animal on one hand and grand cru finesse on the other. Nice quaff with beautiful resolved tannin, smokiness and fruit, but missing the grand cru Burgundy other.

November 24, 2022 - Purchased at a Hart-Davis-Hart auction about 6 yrs. ago. Since then it's been stored at 55 deg. F and 70% R.H. The ullage was less than 0.25 in.

This wine is shy. It needs a 5 hr. decant to reveal its' character. Ruby red at the center with slight browning at the edges. Dark cherry, clove, and steel on the nose. Big, rich, flavors of dark cherry with notes of clove on the palate. Fabulous mouth feel! And it has just the right amount of acidity to accentuate the flavors. Tannins are still present, but rounded and not harsh. Its' balance indicates it has a long life ahead.

December 30, 2020 - certainly mature with the fruit now receding into the background - fine and complex but there may be a risk of this drying out so drink soonish

December 10, 2017 - Attractive; earthy/terroir Gevrey-Chambertin aromas mixed with dark cherry and oak very much integrated. Slight tertiary and jammy (2003 being a hot year), yet this Domaine very much had overripeness in check. Starting to show brick tones, but still relatively fresh. More elegance than power, with velvety tannins. Drink now.

November 19, 2017 - 2/7, good cork. Medium garnet core, pale garnet rim. Attractively pure fruit - mainly red notes but some bilberry too - quite youthful. Floral top-note. Medium/full bodied on the palate, certainly mouth-filling but harmonious with soft tannins and balanced acidity, attractive pure red and black fruits, a slight savoury meaty/gamey edge that only really manifests itself along with some zingy acidity on the long, balanced finish. This is excellent, especially in the context of the vintage, and whilst drinking well it is still relatively youthful and could well improve as it gains complexity.

October 9, 2014 - Dark ruby, some fading to edge. Wow. P&P, notes of cola, dark cherry. Nearest I've come to Cali Pinot in dear old Burgundy. Plenty acidity though. Tannins fairly soft. 24 hrs later, much calmer, but still plenty rich cherry fruit, roasted beets, undergrowth. Not really typical but extremely enjoyable and highly drinkable. Put preconceptions aside and just enjoy.

August 10, 2012 - Medium/deep garnet core, medium pale garnet rim. Ripe, sweet dark cherry and plum nose with vanilla and floral notes. Medium/full bodied, with sweet red and plum fruits, soft tannins, decent acidity making this relatively light on its feet, very good length slightly savoury finish. Outstanding in the context of the vintage, drinking well but absolutely no hurry.
