June 16, 2018 - Strong rich smell of liquorice, plum and woody herbs. Ever ever ever so slightly corked, but not enough to detract from the pleasure. The 15% alcohol is evident. Prune and blackberry fruit in the mouth. Also somewhat meaty and smoky. The oak is also present but soft and well integrated. This wine has bags of stuffing and would last another 10 years, a remarkable wine from an unremarkable vintage on paper. Fine silky tannin and a long clean mineral iron after taste. Lovely.

January 5, 2015 - big mixed wild berry with garrigue and some earth; more gravitas than i usually encounter with barbera. Still, this was not heavy. The bottle seemed to empty so easily.

November 17, 2014 - Thick layers of dark fruit, oak and marzipan. Tannins are present but ripe. High alcohol fairly well integrated. Loved it, great food wine.
