September 16, 2023 - Ooooh chile, can't believe this has such a low rating. It's an acquired taste for sure (my wife was not a fan) but you can't deny it's got solid bones.

Classic fino/manzanilla nose of sea breeze, oxidized raisin, green olive, walnuts. Palate is lovely, quite fresh with a slight roundness, much like the nose but with more sea spray and a bit more raisin. Just so light on its feet with a very good length.

Great as an apero, but stood up surprisingly well to miso ramen. Awesome QPR.

May 5, 2023 - Very nutty and oxidative nose, like huangjiu. A good roundness and somewhat pleasant bitterness. Definitely get that typical sherry salinity.

November 26, 2022 - On the tour. Wasn’t impressed with either this one or the fino Jarana. One of the two had a burnt hair note that stuck out. Both relatively thin. These are very large scale commercial bottlings and I’ll take Tio Pepe over them any day.

October 4, 2022 - Drunk with lunch at Llisa Negra in Valencia, Spain. Very nice, especially at 4 Euros a glass. Chosen by the Sommelier for my dessert.

September 24, 2022 - Zippy and tangy came to mind when tasting this. Pale lemon in the glass, pronounced aromas of yeast, nuts and a bit floral, palate is bone dry, briny, almonds, tart green apple, crisp acidity, lighter body, long finish that was a bit bitter.

(NV Lustau Manzanilla Papirusa) Light and dry, with a briny tang. The gamey nose adds forest notes, and the wine is soft and long on the palate. Appellation: Sanlúcar de Barrameda
