August 31, 2013 - This wine is past its peak. However it did go well with parmigiano reggiano and triple cream cheese and crackers.

August 31, 2011 - Weeknight Wine Tasting (Bistro 7, Philadelphia PA): honeysuckle dominated the palate for me, with nice floral notes and the waxiness i love on white rhones. heat creeps in on the finish and detracts from an otherwise pleasant wine.

August 31, 2011 - Survery Of New World Wines (Bistro 7 (7 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia)): A little bit of sticker shock. I drank this without knowing the price. This is an enjoyable wine, yes. Fuller bodied and it should pair well with food. Nice example of California version of Rhone white. Nice salinity and fruit. I noted almonds, apricot and honey with good acidity. That is the good. On the down side, though, I thought it has a bit too much alcohol. It crept in at the finish. Put it all together and this is a wine I enjoyed drinking, but in the $70 range? Wow. I'll pass at that price.

December 19, 2010 - Really enjoyed this.... a wonderful fuller bodied white with lots of complexity. white flowers, apricot, dry honeycomb. concentration of flavors makes you expect some sweetness, but it isn't there -- it is dry. Viscous texture in mouth lets you physically feel the substance you are tasting. Medium(+) finish.

October 31, 2007 - After sitting in the glass for a just few minutes, I tasted this beauty with my nose and was overwhelmed by the floral bouqiet, ripe apricots and lingering butterscotch.....and for the eye...it was a beautiful, deep yellow...similar to a vin santo....with a little green tint....i didn't even need to drink it.....it was enough to just look and smell...but alas.....i broke down and tasted it.....all i can say is wow....unlike a Kistler...with it's heavy, oaky, and buttery flavor....this was clean, crisp and intoxicating.....no hard edges.....a pleasure to sip and savor.....it held up through the cheeses and the seafood stew.......perfect with every course.....my wife (a true believer that whites don't count)...went back to it after drinking the reds.....unheard of.....save this for special people.....we did

September 28, 2007 - Shows excellet noes of both Roussanne (grassy, butterscotch, lychees, etc.) and Viognier (floral, fruity, etc.) Good structure for a Roussanne, excellent deep nose, and quite extended length. Very nice.

March 24, 2007 - same as my note from 2 months ago, this case really ended with a bang. This vintage was light upon release but picked up noticable weight and complexity as a year passed. Not to the extreme of the 02's, but definately at this stage favorable to the 03.

February 18, 2007 - my first bottle from this producer...wow...as memorable as a red....stood up to intense cheeses like gorgonzola and aged gouda...this bottle has aging potential...can only drink with special people...

January 21, 2007 - This bottle definately convinces me the one from December was an off bottle. It amazes me how this wine continues to put on weight, as well as, aromatics. New tastes and flavors are giving way, such as, cinnamon pecans (swish in your mouth first, great acidity is realized as well), cantaloupe, and tart peach. Once again, a good lesson in giving your Kongsgaard R/V a minimum of a 1 year after delivery to drink. Can't wait to go into the 05's this time next year. BTW, the 02 is still virtually perfect......Enjoy and do yourself a favor, decant for an hour and serve at 50-60degrees.....
