June 3, 2013 - Not a bad pinot. For $25, this one served as the dinner complement to food that didn't really HAVE to have any alcoholic complement. This wine will not win awards, nor will it please those stuffy people at the dinner party because they'll know you didn't serve them a bottle of 1er Cru, Domaine des Croix. If you want a wine that is ready to go upon pop and pour, and has very decent raspberry pie, spice in the front, a good non-sweet mid-body and a spicy yet surprisingly velvety finish, then you've come to the right wine. This wine wasn't very complex, didn't have much alcohol on the nose, palate, and didn't try to overrun or outdo anything. I was OK with this, given that it wasn't intended to do anything other than serve as a background support to the food (which it did very well). If you have this bottle, just make sure you aren't serving it with anything that begs for a good dry, complex, or competitive edge in the wine because you'll be very disappointed with this one in that role. Serve this one as the second (and third, and fourth, and fifth) bottle(s) after a really good first bottle to keep the good times rolling. Drink now. This one isn't going to hold past 2014.

December 23, 2012 - Drinking a 2008 M. Autumn Pinot Willamette Valley and I'm feckin stumped! 221 cases produced... Big fruit with leather nose, typical Pinot thin body, but after breathing for 1.5 hrs, spice, fruit, maybe pepper, taste good, almost full body, slight tannins at finish.
